Waiting is hard, and I've continued to struggle with it despite writing a whole entire book on the subject. It's hard to trust God's timing and goodness. It's hard to focus on Father, Son and Spirit when we don't have what we think we need.

These struggles drove my interest in studying Waiting on God. But what I found was so much more. I discovered the gift of waiting on God not just to DO something, but as a state of being, a stated of being centered on God's goodness.

Each day of the devotional focuses on one aspect of love from 1 Corinthians 13. Most days include other verses on that topic, and some have a few thoughts from me. Every day there are a series of questions to think about and some practices to try, in order to RECEIVE love from God and OFFER love to others.

Of the many Bible studies I've written and taught over the years, the Sermon on the Mount study is probably the one that changed me the most. I wish there were a way to know how much of my current life is the direct result of digging deeply into the Sermon on the Mount and trying to "hear these words of mine and act on them" (Matthew 7:24.)
